14 years ago… September 11, 2001, the United States of America faced terror! Four coordinated  terrorist acts have ended thousands of lives in our beloved country.

  • American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 were crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center complex in NYC.
  • American Airlines Flight 77 was crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia
  • United Airlines Flight 93 was steered towards Washington D.C. but crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after brave passengers tried to overcome the hijackers.

All of these attacks have claimed the lives of 2’996 people.

It was the deadliest incident for firefighters and law enforcement officers in the history of the United States with 343 and 72 killed.

In the meantime health implications have demanded the lives of many more.

Why am I telling you this? For two reasons:

Number 1:

As a reminder of what happened to our Nation, to our Country, to our Home, to our people. May we always keep them in our hearts!! Lost, but never forgotten.

Memoriam prayer:

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning hush,

I am the uplifting rush

Of quiet birds’ encircled flight;

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there, I did not die

Number 2:

It is alarming to see what’s happening in our country right now! People shooting, killing each other! People who are supposed to be neighbors, friends, family! Death, racism, hatred spread out and destroy our home, our country from the inside!

September 11, 2001, our president has delivered one sentence in his speech, which I would like to repeat here:

“This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time.”

Remember, how it was after the terrorist attacks! Please, think back and remember how we felt, how we acted towards each other? Is this forgotten? Is it really gone?

Shouldn’t we all remember September 11, 2001? Shouldn’t we all honor the ones who lost their lives, sacrificed themselves and went through a living hell? Don’t you agree it’s time we think back and realize  what all the victims hearts have done? They connected us!! All their souls have woven an enormously strong bound of affiliation, solidarity and brotherhood.

Shouldn’t we all be grateful we had the lost ones in our life – and start loving again, instead of killing? Helping again, instead of destroying? And seeing each other again as what we were meant to be?
