1. When did you start writing?
I started writing in 2018 after I had a dream about what is now my debut book She Awakens. I had a dream about the story and just knew in my heart that I had to write that story.
2. What motivates you to write?
I think I’m lucky in this aspect. Writing relaxes me and I’m an easily stressed person so I find myself writing multiple times a day as a way to calm myself.
3. What genre do you write in and what made you chose this particular genre?
I write in young adult fantasy. I picked this genre because it’s the genre I most enjoy reading. I’ve read hundreds of books in this genre and it is a dream of mine to have my own book on the shelves beside books that I’ve already read and loved.
4. What is your goal in writing? Do you have dreams where your writing should take you?
My goal in writing is to be a full time author. I want what probably every author wants, I want to make a living sharing my stories with everyone. But honestly if my stories resonate with even one person I would feel like all the stress and time spent writing was worth it.
5. Do you ever suffer from writer’s block and if yes, how do you deal with it?
I think every writer probably suffers from writer’s block at one time or another. I encountered writer’s block a couple of times along the journey writing my debut novel She Awakens. The first time this happened I didn’t write, I just waited for the block to leave, but that took months. While the writer’s block did eventually leave and I was able to continue my writing when it happened a second time I didn’t have months to wait for it to go away. The second time, and every time since then, I’ve just pushed through. I push through by writing other things, that can be a different scene or even another story all together. I’ve found that by pushing through and continuing to write the writer’s block always leaves me in a couple of days.
6. What advice would you like to give new, hopeful authors?
WRITE, WRITE, AND WRITE SOME MORE!!! Get everything you can down on paper. If things seem too daunting take it scene by scene if you have to. If you’re not feeling a scene that day, skip it for a scene you want to write. Take a notebook with you everywhere you go and if you get even five minutes to write, do it. Even if you only get a few words down a day that’s a few more words down on paper than you had the day before.
7. Please, tell us about your work.
My book is set in a time where the Fae have taken over the world and humans are in hiding. It revolves around Attina, a human girl who knows nothing about the woman who gave birth to her. The book follows her, along with her sassy sidekick talking horse Raven, as Attina learns more about her past and who she really is. As her journey progresses she learns that she is the only person who can take on the Fae King and put an end to the Fae’s vicious reign.
Thank you for being my guest. It was such a pleasure to have you here!!

Caitlin’s Debut Book:
In this Young Adult page turner, Attina finds herself in an unlikely predicament when it’s uncovered the normal, human existence she thought she lived is turned upside down. Finding out she’s half Fae not only confounds her, but in a time where the brutal Fae run the world she is suddenly tasked with bringing the Fae and humans together.
With the help of her trusty, and somewhat snarky steed Raven, Attina sets out on a mission to save the human race from extinction. As she continues on her mission, she discovers powers beyond her wildest dreams.
In a world where it’s tricky to discern who’s good and where the evil really lies, Attina finds herself in one predicament after another, not knowing who to trust except for Raven. As her journey unfolds, her strength and will are tested.
Will she ever be strong enough to bridge the gap between these two worlds?
