The Little Buddy Wearing Makeup – A Riddle

It Looks like I wear glasses

my coat is silver gray

my hands and feet are very dark

all in all I look okay.

**

I’m not limited to hunting

at night time or at dawn

one can find me all day long

with a face like Makeup on.

**

It seems like I am washing

my food before I eat;

this is just a fairy tale

but believe me, it looks sweet!

**

A huge trouble-maker

that is how I’m known.

People seem to want us

but no family, just alone.

**

We look very cute and friendly

but hell, can we get pissed

when one day you feed and spoil us

the next day we get dissed.

**

It’s true we can be hand-raised

tamed and trained to see

but please just do remember

we want to be wild and free.

**

I am no pet to keep at home

to hug and smooch and swoon.

by now you might have guessed

I am the cute racoon!

Cuddly Black And Whites – A Riddle

____________________________________________________________________________________

It is day but just as well it’s night

which means it’s dark as well as light.

It doesn’t climb but stays on ground

in all Americas it can be found.

**

It is a mammal and a loving one

Mom protects her kids until they’re gone.

Dad doesn’t care, but Mom will be

until baby is ready for family.

**

In winter when cold, it goes to sleep

but does not do it very deep.

It wakes up and feeds then goes back

where its sisters sleep in a dozen pack.

**

It’s omnivore, means it does eat all

hunting, killing, tear and maul.

It feeds on plants, insects, meat ‘n egg

it shows no mercy, don’t cry and beg.

**

They’re alone whenever they don’t breed

they can run with quite surprising speed.

And even though they’re black and white

they aren’t Zebra’s that is right.

**

The Great Horned Owl is on the hunt

and catches our mammal pretty blunt.

Wolves, foxes, badgers they stay away

scared of it’s weapon, a bad spray!

**

Our little buddy, and there is no wink

can defend himself and badly stink!

Cute and cuddly, a black and white hunk

I’m sure, you guessed: It is the skunk!

The Little Show Off – A Riddle

________________________________________________________________________

Small and chatty and hunts at dawn

quick and fast, shows up and is gone.

He wants to be a predator and as well a wiz

but more a creep and fake, that’s what he is.

**

All kinds of sorts do exist in our – and animals world

a mouse one, a fire-one, the fur straight or curled;

a back stripe one, and as well one with naked feet

up mountains, in the forests and tropics can we greet.

**

We can find him anywhere we might go

in grass, at waters, and up hills is where they grow.

He’s got teeth, but don’t mean danger

he might look familiar and still be stranger.

**

He might be related to the mink,

but no reason for pride, it’s no close link.

He’s got a tail – he thinks it’s long

but don’t get fooled, he’s very wrong.

**

When we see one don’t be sad or shy

in case he resembles some familiar guy.

I know a man and I didn’t sniff diesel

who’s just like our animal today – a weasel.

Cute Gray Toy – A Riddle

Cute and cuddly, with big tufts of hair

they are unique and they are rare.

Nocturnal animals they love to sleep

during the day, without a cheep.

**

When night has come they go and hunt

But their prey don’t scream nor die nor grunt.

Once their hunting time is gone

They move back to sleep, their work is done.

**

There in the trees they do need time

to relax, to digest or just to climb.

They communicate with lots of sound

A grunt, a bellow, when they’re up or on the ground.

**

Their babies are born, no legs no fur

unable to see, to hear or to churr.

They finish development close to their Mom

very well hidden, where it’s cozy and calm.

**

They are unique, their food and their way

it is upon us to make them stay.

If we don’t watch out and keep us linked

These poor little fellows will soon be extinct.

**

They are cute, but are in grave danger

their habitat shrinks, and so does their manger.

Lots of them are killed by us,

by dogs, by cars or sometimes bus.

**

We limit them in freedom in food and in life

it’s upon us to not make this a strife.

Keep this cute buddy with the tufts and gray hair

Of course I talk about the Koala Bear.

A Bristly Little Friend – A Riddle

question mark

He’s cute in his face

He moves slow, with no grace

His language can be sometimes scary

He is careful and always wary.

**

He’s a mammal, our little friend,

prefers in gardens his time to spend.

He’s immune to a snake’s bad bite

to many of us he’s a normal sight.

**

He’s useful to gardens eats varmins and worms

if she feeds her babies she’s immune to storms.

Their fur is some special with defensive skills

They might be dangerous and are called quills.

**

He’s not a mammal you would like to pat

In fall he eats more, and stuffs himself fat.

In winter he usually sleeps all the way through

until spring when he’s back, a regular view.

**

When he is in danger he rolls into a ball

he’s not very big, actually he’s quite small

I guess enough hints, it’s time to lift the fog

Of course I’m talking about the hedgehog.

Fear Of The Unknown – A Riddle

question mark

It’s an animal, a predator, hidden and smart

It’s scary, strange and to catch it is hard.

It has legs, but no feelers, no fur and no wings

It envelops prey, it bites and sometimes stings.

**

It has no tongue and doesn’t have teeth

But it has pincers and poison underneath.

You find it in forests, in basements in corners around

It does scare you sometimes, but not with sound.

**

Superstition says seeing it in the morning makes the day bad

But meeting it at night should make you feel glad.

Some of them are useful, and some are dangerous to see

depending where you live, you better flee.

**

Some are as tiny as dust you don’t know they are there.

But some others are huge, these are the ones that scare.

Some live in holes and await there their prey

Some others build webs, where they lurk and sway.

**

But no matter what kind you meet, just please take care

You can see them all over, no matter where!

As for me, seeing one means holding my breath

No matter how small each one scares me to death!

**

I am pretty strong, I’m as well quite tough

But seeing one of these to me is enormously rough.

My heart pumps fast, sweat drops and my eyes get wider

Seeing me like this tells you clearly: I’ve seen a spider…
