Happy Easter 2019

Weather gets warmer and the wind is a breeze

The flying pollen makes some of us sneeze.

But spring is a season where nature re-starts

the warm air and the sunshine warm our hearts.

Then the holiday gets closer, Easter it’s called

where children search for the nests we installed.

They find bunnies, and eggs, chocolate and sweets

a holiday for all of us, where the family eats.

Gone is the scarf, the coat and the glove.

We all share the  warmth, the laughter and love.

From Fall To Winter

It’s gray outside, and once again

the world turns cold with fog and rain.

No more golden colors of the fall

the season ends, once and for all.

**

Not long ago the grass was green

the early fall our eyes have seen;

now, brown and flat on ground it lies

There is no doubt, our nature dies.

**

Rain pours down, the sky is gray

it’s dark outside, even during day.

Evenings are cold, no time to jog

the days start slow with thick white fog.

**

The trees are bald, the leaves are gone

they’re dead and wet on our lawn.

It seems the time for wet and cold

for rain and frost, for death and mold.

**

The year ends soon, it’s Christmas time

we should all laugh and sing and rhyme.

Nature has made its own pace slow

we all just hope for Christmas snow.

**

And still, this late fall time in every year

is a sign of rest and sleep, and not of fear!

It’s Nature’s way of winter break

get ready for spring and anew awake.

Welcome Summer 2018

The world is sleepy, enjoys the heat

so many smells the air tastes sweet

from flowers, honey, grass and hay

kids and sprinklers, time to play.

**

I hear the humming of the bees

I feel the soft wind in the trees

leaves give shadows very rare

humid and heavy is the air.

**

Birds stop feeding all their brood

it is time for adulthood.

No time to keep them safely hedged

they fly free are fully fledged.

**

Birds are sleeping in the trees

they start singing at the silence of bees

when slowly sunbeams are going to sleep

before the world starts sleeping deep.

**

What a wonderful relaxing time

when nature is right on its prime.

But deep inside we know it all

we are expecting soon the fall.

**

But for now we all enjoy the smiles

the smell of ice cream over miles.

The swim in lakes, in pools in sea

In summertime we all feel free.

A Busy Worker – A Riddle

A hard working girl that’s what I am

from the day I’m born ‘til the day I die.

After a quite spoiled nursery,

my work will be valued high.

**

There are 12,000 sorts of us

spread out in all regions of the Earth

even in the desert and the arctic circle

surviving heat and ice with mirth.

**

Some of us exist under water,

deep in an Australian pond.

Our buddies in the desert run the fasted

With at least three feet per second.

**

Our smallest sorts are tiny

Less than 1/3 an inch.

Our biggest friends are monsters

2 ¾ in. and they can bite and pinch.

**

We all live in a monarchy

Mostly working girls and queen

The boys are good to fertilize

then they die and food they’ve been.

**

We can carry 10 times our weight

We never rest or pant.

I guess you’ve figured out by now

Oh yes, I am an ant.

A Little Sleepy Fella – A Riddle

________________________________________________________________________

I’m fast and tiny, undisputed

seems in Europe am I rooted.

But now I exist ‘cross half the Earth

where I sleep I feed and I give birth.

**

Twice a year I have a litter

of four to six the same ol’ critter.

I live in nature, cute and free

Don’t hold me as pet, no good for me.

**

I live in families most of the time

I hunt on the ground, but I can climb!

We’re many sorts and some extinct

small ones big ones in all tinct.

**

I’m a rodent, cute as hell

a delicacy to old Romains, I can tell.

I’m omnivorous, I run and cheep

but six month of a year I spend in sleep.

**

I am fast, I need no spur

my tail is covered all in fur.

Living out in nature, I don’t like no house

I’m hard to guess – I’m a dormouse.

A dormouse is a rodent, but not a mouse. They mainly live in Europe and Africa, but lately had been discovered in Asia too. Dormice are omnivorous and a favorite prey for owls.

An Elegant Gentleman – A Riddle

________________________________________________________________________

He’s an elegant fella, with a great fashion sense,

he wears timeless colors with pride, never tense.

White is his shirt, and there on his back

he carries a tailcoat in shiniest black.

**

Let’s have a look at his elegant wife

they love each other despite their hard life.

They live in a world with no roads and no street

The lady gives life to her brood on her feet.

**

Their world is so cold, where air freezes breath

everyone going will inevitably meet death.

And still, they found a way to survive

give birth and feed, walk, slide, swim and dive.

**

Their existence is hard and is constant danger

and to us it couldn’t be any stranger.

But to them, it’s normal, to walk, slide and try

to survive by swimming because they can’t fly.

**

Six different ones are living on ice

the same hard life in misery, not nice.

And still our fella is happy in his elegant dress

He’s a penguin – right. Did you guess?

The Little Show Off – A Riddle

________________________________________________________________________

Small and chatty and hunts at dawn

quick and fast, shows up and is gone.

He wants to be a predator and as well a wiz

but more a creep and fake, that’s what he is.

**

All kinds of sorts do exist in our – and animals world

a mouse one, a fire-one, the fur straight or curled;

a back stripe one, and as well one with naked feet

up mountains, in the forests and tropics can we greet.

**

We can find him anywhere we might go

in grass, at waters, and up hills is where they grow.

He’s got teeth, but don’t mean danger

he might look familiar and still be stranger.

**

He might be related to the mink,

but no reason for pride, it’s no close link.

He’s got a tail – he thinks it’s long

but don’t get fooled, he’s very wrong.

**

When we see one don’t be sad or shy

in case he resembles some familiar guy.

I know a man and I didn’t sniff diesel

who’s just like our animal today – a weasel.

My Perfect Moment

The sky is black, night doesn’t cease

silence is surrounding me with peace.

A few rare minutes without noise or fight

before the new day dispels the night.

**

One second blackness is complete

the next a shade of light’s to greet.

A lonely voice of one timid song

moves with the darkness all along.

**

A redstar’s voice it makes me smile

a swallow, a thrush and a robin add to the pile

of wonderful voices, a choir of delight

and the blackbird’s song is the end of the night.

**

The black of the night, turns in a very dark blue

it gets lighter and brighter without much ado.

It’s only a moment I’ve got to greet this new day

before the noise, yells, cars, the usual way.

**

But these moments are precious, a nature’s rare gift

when my darkness  withdraws into daylight to shift.

A new day, a new light, a new start, a new chance.

This is the  one, perfect moment of romance.

Dear Love

d-heart

It’s said, and that’s across the Earth

if you are nice from day of birth

’til adulthood and while you grew

don’t search for love ’cause it finds you.

**

I’m just a little normal girl

helpful, sweet – almost a pearl;

and still, dear love, I won’t go fret

I’m fairly sure, we’ve never met!

**

Sometimes I searched, but mostly not

I thought you’re there – but then I got

abuse, and use, and pain and lies

I had more downs than I had highs.

**

I continue living, being good

be sweet and caring like I should.

Don’t know how long I still can cope

because I’m slowly losing hope.

**

All my life I did was look

how you met others – like in a book.

But when I showed up you weren’t there

I saw you run and could only stare.

**

I held myself back from stalking you

sat there and waited, and I still do.

I’m sad and lonely don’t you see?

I guess it’s time you’re meeting me!

**

I’m holding on, but no more feign

and, dear love, nowhere to complain!

I’m wrinkly, old and still alone

why don’t you have a telephone?

**

Quit being early, or too late!

Send out your cupids, stop the wait!

I know, I’m only one in masses

but I really think you should get glasses!
