You wait at my door

I found a beautiful poem on the Vampire Maman’s blog. Please take the time to read it. I’m convinced you’ll love it as much as I do. Well done, Juliette! ❤

Vampire Maman

You Wait At My Door

You wait at my door,

Your bite still fresh,

Your cries

Your pleading

Your banging

The scratching

Your love

Astounds me

You will not give up

Fangs set

Love forever

I must let you in

For after all

Despite all

Forever all

I laugh

I smile

I let you in

You are my cat.

A Tribute To A Wonderful Cat

On paws as soft as velvet
I was approaching you
I needed food, I needed a game
So, I told you what to do.
**
When I entered your home six years ago
You already had two cats
Beautiful, big, calm and sweet
Huge paws, green eyes and ears like bats.
**
No matter how cool they both were
With me they were a little cross.
It only needed one rage outburst
And I became their boss.
**
You told me you loved my kitty voice
So, I talked a lot with you
We cuddled and played many times
And the connection between us grew.
**
Then I got sick, I was in pain,
I felt your horrible inner strife,
While you tried to hide your grief from me
I watched you fighting for my life.
**
For eight months we both have worked
With my vet, no matter how much it cost.
But one day, five years ago you had to see
That the battle for my life was lost.
**
With tears in your eyes, you prevented the worst
The pain in your face, you didn’t want to show
You helped me to the rainbow bridge
Holding me in your Mommy arms, you quietly let me go.
**
The last thing I felt before I left
Was your kiss between my ears
The last thing you whispered before I was gone
“I love you, girl”, blocked by all your tears.
**
I know very much after all these years
My loss in your life still plays its part.
But we both are still a unity
I left my paw prints on your heart.
**
But Mommy, don’t worry about your cat
I know you loved me so.
Believe me, here I wait for you
To the day you will have to go.

How To Spend Your Vacation Writing

I generally do whatever I can to use my free time to write. The very best time is my vacation. Tons of free time and “nothing” else to do. Yes, of course, there’s the usually shopping trip. Meeting friends, book fairs, a few meetings, a little bit of sightseeing, if necessary, but normally I spend my vacation time with my Californian Mom, my sister… you get the point. Places where I can relax and concentrate on my books and stories.

Once again I was lucky enough to have had a home for three weeks, where I had nearly nothing to do than to shop, type, and write.

I could concentrate on the current book – number seven in the series, where I got stuck while being at home. No matter what I tried, I just couldn’t get forward with the story. I had an idea and it didn’t work. I wanted to write about a conversation between two characters and it didn’t make sense, not even to me.

As soon as I was gone, decently relaxed and had peace and silence around me (two dogs, four cats, a handful of birds and a guinea pig, my pen touched the paper and wrote.

I mentioned this before, and it once again proved right with me: I cannot write a good story (or part of it) when I’m stressed out or unhappy. Hemingway wrote his best books when he was weeping over his life and/or drunk. Not working with me.

I’m very happy my work made this good progress during this vacation, even more since the first book of the series got its copyright and is currently prepared to be published.

I’m so very excited!

Thank you all who have worked on this with me.

This vacation was successful for me, even though I was “just hanging out”! It’s been calm, quiet, helpful, reducing stress and homey too!

Thanks to my sister and my brother-in-law who hosted me during all this time!! You rock!!

Spring 2018

Once again the first season of the year

has arrived, and just picks up in gear.

Flowers bloom, the grass turns green

everything looks fresh and clean.

**

Renewed life stretches and is waking

sleep is gone, life is in the making.

Birds, and flowers, water and grass

happiness is now as clear as glass.

**

Singing and dancing are taking over

we find luck in a four leaved clover.

We are proud and we all smile

dust is shaken off the winter pile.

**

Youngsters are shown by their proud Mom

birds and kitties nd puppies, all are calm.

The sun shines brighter every day

warms our babies on their way.

**

And once again we know it’s true

what we didn’t think when the cold wind blew

The Earth has once again shown that all the tragic

thoughts are gone by Nature’s magic.

Dangerous Shadow – A Riddle

*******************************************************************************************************

He is strong and he is fast

when he strikes, no prey to last.

He hunts in darkness quite with ease

not on the ground but also in trees

**

When he’s hungry, in greatest shape

he kills the monkey and the ape.

On the ground he hunts boar and deer

birds and reptiles live in fear.

**

He’s fast as lighting and still is proud

a soft footed hunter who’s never loud.

He lives alone most of his life

two of them end up in strife.

**

He’s beautiful but very rare

he’s shy and carries unique hair.

His fur was coveted long ago

he’s almost gone from what we know.

**

He can get three feet without the tail

to watch and hunt him ends in fail.

His teeth and claws do make him climb

and hide in trees for quite some time.

**

Strong he is, blends in and linked

soon enough he’ll be extinct.

He has been hunted, hauled and stalled…

Clouded leopard is he called.

The Predator – a riddle

***

What is it that sneaks through darkness and night?

It’s soundless and careful it doesn’t need light.

A lethal predator in twilight and day,

no chance to survive for its hunted prey.

 *

It’s a magician when it comes to disguise,

only light to betray its beautiful eyes.

ears made to hear the slightest move

a body to make the successful prove.

 *

They can be tall and small and medium size

no matter how big they bring death as surprise.

They can be brown or black or red or white,

Grey or mixed with dots or stripes.

*

They can be with short tail or one very long

with stumpy, thick or thin tail it never is wrong.

They’ve got whiskers some got ear tips and some are without

some are flat nosed and some have a beautiful snout.

 *

Sometimes they’re sweet and sometimes they’re wild

and some of them are like our own child.

Some of them climb or stay on the floor

some of them purr the other ones roar.

*

But all of them have their own deadly claws

On all of their four velvety paws.

The riddle is easy, as simple as that

Of course I’m talking about “The Cat”.
