Dear ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’ followers, readers and friends!

I won’t be online ever so often during this time, but I’m trying to make sure ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’ won’t dry out. And I’d be very happy to welcome each one of your comments on my blog posts!

The Influence of Followers: Would You Still Blog if You Didn’t Have Them?

Jenny of “Jenny in Neverland” published a very interesting view on blogs and followers. I thought I’d reblog and give as many readers as possible a chance to let their opinion hear about this. Thank you Jenny.

Jenny in Neverland

Having followers and readers is great. I won’t lie. When I started my blog, although I loved writing book reviews and enjoyed it immensely, I would often dream about having a decent amount of followers who I could get to know, exchange comments with and build a rapport with. I would grow green with envy at the bloggers who had hundreds, sometimes thousands of followers. Who would receive comment after comment on their latest post and who would constantly be chatting to people all over the blogosphere. I realised that although I loved writing and reading – followers were something I wanted too.

Is Your Blog As Friendly As You Think It Is?

Hugh gives valuable tips and hints on how to get followers on your blog – and keep them.

Hugh's Views & News

Just imagine it’s your first day here on Planet Blog and you and everyone else with you hears the words “Hands up all those that want 1,000 followers.” What percentage of people in your group do you think would put up their hand?

When we start our journey in the world of blogging, getting as many followers as possible is very important to all of us.  Why write and blog if nobody is going to read what we have to say?

So we’ve managed to gain lots of followers and we want more, yet we seem to also be losing followers.  I wonder why?

I learned very quickly that building and maintaining your very own blogging community is an important aspect of blogging and one of the easiest ways to start losing followers is by not acknowledging those followers that leave comments.  In my time as a blogger I’ve seen this…

Welcome to the “Writer’s Treasure Chest”

A big welcome!

Please, let me thank the ones who are already following this blog, even though there had not been any formal introduction yet. I am going to catch up on this:

I am Aurora Jean Alexander, Author. As shown on the “About” page I am working on my first novel after writing short stories, poems and other creative pieces in the past. Hopefully I will be able to present a few pieces of my writing before the novel will be released.

I started to blog because I found in the past reading-years that so many excellent authors are out there. Maybe they aren’t famous and their names aren’t known, but I personally think their stories need to be told and are amazing. So many gifted authors should be introduced to the public and I plan to do whatever possible to make this spotlight wider.

This blog is supposed to become a meeting point to authors, writers, readers, reviewers and people who enjoy finding hidden treasures within the writing world.

Writer’s Treasure Chest is about books I found by chance and others that are introduced to me. I will publish and re-blog reviews if possible and will be part in as many blog tours as possible.

There will be interviews with featured authors and interesting blog posts of all kinds.

I will try to post about fascinating and helpful subjects and of course love to hear from as many people as possible to publish guest posts. (Please use the contact form on the top of the page or on the right side for interviews, blog tours, guest posts and feedback.)

As so many other bloggers I too encourage readers to comment and love reading them (preferably positive ones. *smirk*)  And of course I love to see as many of my blog posts being shared as often as possible. I have added different share-buttons like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google and many more… You will make me happy using them.

And now only one more thing is left to say:

Welcome to the Writer’s Treasure Chest!

It is a pleasure to have you here!!
