If I Had A Birthday Wish

It’s an extraordinary day for me today. I’m facing the fact that I just got one year older. This means my anniversary to turn 29 recurs; I forgot the number of times this year.

Well, I figure, age is just a number and considering my age and everything I went through, I’m blessed I’m still as functional as I am now. I’m not going to complain today… after all, it’s my birthday, and I don’t want to come online whining like a baby.

Don’t get me wrong, my Birthday will be the most wonderful day of the year. Due to the pandemic, the lockdown, and social distancing, I’m going to spend it all by myself, locked into my apartment, just with the cats. And knowing my luck, as usual, people are going to forget about it – and even if not, I’m getting short messages, texts, messenger-‘HBD’s and the one or other voice message… but nowadays nobody seems to have time to talk anymore – on the phone and sacrifice a few minutes to make things personal and show the other one that a few minutes isn’t too much to ask.

However, I have thought about what I would wish for if I had a few free wishes (Like twenty or so – on a list), But then I decided to do it differently.

And what do I pray for at this time?

Of course, if you know me, you’re well aware that the last point on that list was written with a smirk and a wink…

Yes, I do wish all that… but then, after all, it’s MY birthday – MY special day, where I’m going out and will buy a piece of cake, just for me… and then return to my writing…

What do I wish for myself? I mean, besides a few things that I don’t want to spread out here… that are deep in my heart… I won’t tell you.

I wish more people would watch the wonderful book trailers for ‘The Council Of Twelve’ series and take the time to read the books. Many say they’re wonderful, and I’d love to hear more people diving into the series. Then, don’t forget: This isn’t a trilogy – it’s a series. Book 4 is getting ready…

Truly Grateful – A Poem For Thanksgiving 2019

For many things I’m grateful,

one of them is health

I don’t need to leave it fateful

health to me means wealth.

**

Part of being wealthy is family and friends

having a home is also great to me

It’s important that love never ends

and that I’m truly safe and free.

**

So many people don’t have anything to eat

They barely have water and the bit they have is unclean

Where I live in nature is giving and still neat

I have clothes to wear and the grass is green.

**

I’m grateful for my education for the chances given to me

I’m thankful I can travel in planes and in my car

How glad I am that I have music, I can hear and I can see

that I have my dreams, moon and sun and wind and star.

**

Life has given me so much to thank for

civilization, technology, a home and pets

what else do I need, what to I want more?

I am lucky, with me and my three cats.

**

It’s time for saying prayers

to be thankful and feeling blessed

And to send our thanks to the One

and see them properly addressed.

Veteran’s Day 2019

A prayer for Veteran’s Day

Dear Veteran

No matter where you served, were you Air Force, Army or a Marine

your work was it that made our homes save and America great.

Your strength, your dedication, your courage brought this country to

where it is now, a land of dreams for many million on Earth.

Your heart, your pride and your life gave this country the base it is built on.

This day is for you, maybe we never forget what we owe you – may we never

forget our debts, may we never forget to be proud of you, and may we never

forget your sacrifice!

God bless you!

I never thought that this is where I’d settle down
I thought I’d die an old man back in my hometown
They gave me this plot of land
Me and some other men, for a job well-done
There’s a big white house
Sits on a hill just up the road
The man inside
He cried the day they brought me home
They folded up a flag and told my mom and dad
We’re proud of your son

And I’m proud to be
On this peaceful piece of property
I’m on sacred ground
And I’m in the best of company
I’m thankful for those thankful
For the things I’ve done
I can rest in peace
I’m one of the chosen ones
I made it to Arlington

I remember daddy brought me here when I was eight
We searched all day
To find out where my grand-dad lay
When we finally found that cross
He said, “Son this is what it costs
To keep us free”

Now here I am, a thousand stones away from him
He recognized me on the first day I came in
And it gave me a chill when he clicked his heels
And saluted me

And I’m proud to be
On this peaceful piece of property
I’m on sacred ground
And I’m in the best of company
I’m thankful for those thankful
For the things I’ve done
I can rest in peace
I’m one of the chosen ones
I made it to Arlington

And every time I hear twenty-one guns
I know they brought another hero home to us

We’re thankful for those thankful
For the things we’ve done
We can rest in peace
‘Cause we are the chosen ones
We made it to Arlington

Yeah, dust to dust
Don’t cry for us
We made it to Arlington

Soul Taker Got Its Third 5-Star Review

I’m very excited to let you all know that ‘Soul Taker’, the first book in ‘The Council Of Twelve’ series, got its third 5-star review. This is wonderful, I’m literally bouncing through my day.

Nice Debut!

New author A.J. Alexander excites us with her debut novella Soul Taker. Kate is an angel of death, taking the soul into the afterlife. After a job that went bad Kate wants to call it quits. Her request is granted in that she is now a Guardian angel and will learn under the tutelage of the great charming, and alluring Archangel Raphael. While Kate is being trained to be a Guardian demons attack kidnapping Kate. She has something they want. After her rescue by the Council of Twelve, we learn Kate does not have something hell and Lucifer want she IS what they want. You have to read the rest of the book to find out why.

Soul Taker is nicely written. Alexander pulls you into her world that is warm and welcoming. The characters are well written. Kate is written with a large innocence and vulnerability, yet it is also her strength as well. Lucifer is luxurious and I love him and Kate’s banter. This book is to be a series and it’s a nice beginning. Alexander is on my radar and will be interested in what else this series brings.

Soul Taker Got Its First 5-Star Review

I’m very excited and grateful. ‘Soul Taker’ got its first 5-star review. This is amazing. I catch myself smiling all over the place.

“a wonderful start to a series”

REVIEWED BY: LINDA TONIS
MEMBER OF THE PARANORMAL ROMANCE REVIEW TEAM
Kate’s job as a Soul-Taker has been weighing heavily on her especially when there are children involved. Now she is given a new job as a Guardian Angel and her teacher is none other than Archangel Raphael (Rafe). Rafe and Kate will be working together for at least three or four years while she learns everything she needs to know.

A fight between demons finds her in Hell in the hands of Abbraxxas whose nickname is “The Butcher” because of his love for torture. When the Archangels finally rescue her she is near death and Rafe is always by her side. When she is well enough she is put through weeks of vigorous training to get her back in shape and during this time Kate and Rafe’s feelings for each other grow.

Kate appears to be a constant target for evil and the reason is finally revealed by Kate herself when she remembers something from her childhood. Of course there is no way I will reveal this important piece of information. The very next time she is caught off guard she finds herself face to face with Lucifer himself and he knows what she is capable of and wants her. Archangels to the rescue once again but there is much more to this story that I can reveal without giving too much away. There is no fun in reading a book when you know all the answers in advance.

I loved this book, a book about good vs. evil and a book filled with wonderful characters and a beautiful romance. I look forward to more in this series and truly highly recommend it. I actually read this book in a few hours that was how interesting it was.
