Late Spring – Almost Summer 2019

The color of grass is a lush green

more vibrant than we’ve ever seen.

Life is fast, quite in a hurry

activeness makes the world seem blurry.

**

While the one birds still sit on their eggs

other baby birds are on their legs

feeling like they are spring kings

almost ready to use their tiny wings.

**

We hear the twittering of all the birds

rants and scolds, like they used words.

On the ground, we hear a fox mother bark

in the morning and shortly before it is dark.

**

Fawns can be seen in higher grass

walk slowly, they’re as delicate as glass!

There’s life all around us, spring in its prime

already it’s June, almost summer time.

**

We should all be grateful for natures gift

it seems life is taking an extra shift

to show us new life, new health a new start

this amazing springtime touches my heart.

Fall Colors

I wake up one day the world’s still bright
but the sun’s got weak when it shines its light.
I want to feel the warmth, but still it seems
there is that milky veil around the beams
**
I go outside, I see the pearls of dew
on flowers, grass, even on the bird that flew
just up while quavering its beguiling song,
His wings are brown as he flies along.
**
When I get up the streets are still
cloaked by fog, the air is chill.
Humidity turns streets all black
when will their light gray be back?
**
The leaves are turning red and brown
some yellow ones look like a crown.
It’s colorful, with ‘rust’ and ‘sunshine’,
with ‘umbra’, ‘burgundy’ and ‘red wine’.
**
Beige and chocolate, light charcoal
bushes, hedges, trees change whole.
Orange, teal and pumpkin pie
are the warm new colors under sky.
**
Sienna, mango and dark peach
everything changes within reach.
Sienna, calico and antique gold
things that were new now seem to be old.
**
Wind whirls around the now dry leaves
we humans changed into long sleeves.
Fall is here, we’re sighing deep
Nature prepares to fall asleep.

Wonderful Spring Time May

The sun sends light down to the Earth

to show the world that it is worth

the warmth, the sunbeams and the song

of Nature pure, it can’t be wrong.

**

When the ground it thirsts for something wet

if rain it needs, that’s what it will get.

Darkest clouds clot up there in the sky

The relief the dry ground feels like a sigh.

**

And still very soon after pouring rain

The world is bright and beams again.

The baby starlings scream for food

other birds as well, they feed their brood.

**

At night you hear the barn owls do

demand to eat, they’re hungry too.

Baby foxes play around, while Momma hunts

and the baby deer won’t make a sound.

**

Listen to nature and you can hear its song

when birds are racing all along.

Singing, twittering, and complaint

they live their life without constraint.

**

The world is old but in spring it will

renew itself with master skill.

Give birth, grow up and paint with ploy

colorful pictures for our joy.

**

Enjoy the spring, enjoy the stance

whistle, sing and also dance.

Soon enough the birds will fly.

And the Earth will once more getting dry.

Winter Is Approaching

The air is cold, the trees are naked, people run around and sneeze

the ground is hard, the leaves are fallen, the wind howls worse than just a breeze.

After autumn coolness, wet streets common. skies a leaden gray they are

We feel the fourth season fast approaching, winter isn’t anymore that far.

**

The only thing we are awaiting, is the white, we want it swift,

soft white flakes that cover brown ground, a blanket, like a gift.

Some time far away, in past and future, spring was and will be, that we know

but at this moment what we wish for, is our long awaited snow.

**

Christmas time is around the corner, we’re looking forward to the Holiday,

but part of it is winter snow in which we all just love the play.

Please, clouds, give us the snowflakes we’re long already waiting for

allow the clouds to cover nature, ground, and plants, and so much more.

**

Nature, it will go to sleep, during winter, the cold and freezing time

while snow will cover, all year’s leftovers, the dirt, the wet and also grime.

In spring the world will be awaking, prepared to grow to play and toy

but when there’s snow in winter, there’s no reason, why we cannot enjoy.

**

Enjoy the cold and play the snow, go to sled, to ski, go skate the ice,

accept the moment, be yourself, winter will be over in just a trice.

Live in the here and in the present, build a snowman on your lawn

In a handful moments you’ll think back and today’s winter will be gone.

The Day I looked Into The Mirror

Dear face,

After all these years of our cooperation, I thought I’d send you a letter. Just in case you’re asking yourself what the reason for this outpour is, there are several.

First, I’d like to say that I know it wasn’t always easy with me. Sometimes I have wanton neglected you, provided you with too much sun, too much snow or salt water. I let you experience dirt, mud, heat, ice, height, wind and air that cold, you nearly froze. I withheld the cream you needed, the humidity and once in a rare while, I paved you with makeup.

We both have come a long way together, and you went through so much with me, I felt I owe you an apology.

It’s time to realize; we’re facing the time when we aren’t silky and smooth anymore.

I discovered one thing today: you provided me with laugh lines. Nobody knows better that I love to smile and it shows. Thank you for them!

You don’t make me look grumpy and old – you make me look radiant, no matter what I put you through.
And I promise you something: no matter how deep these laugh lines get: I will never try to hide them by filling them with powder. There’s no reason. You show my humor. This bone flour is nothing but an agricultural damage.

You and I will be together for another very long time, and my laugh lines will get deeper. Maybe gravity will kick in. (Believe me, you’re not alone; the rest of the body is in that process too.)

But no matter what we’re going to face together, I hope we’ll never be losing our smile, our laughter, the sparkles in our eyes and our laugh lines.

I know I wasn’t always happy with you. But I figure, all in all, I could have gotten it worse.

I want to say thank you for going all the way with me – and I wish us both good luck for the future.

Nature’s Playful Colors

It’s a beautiful time, it’s spring, it’s May

Warm wind has blown the clouds away.

Mother Nature shows her gift

the word to paint, the moods to lift.

**

Her meadows and heathens, oh we are keen

seeing them radiate in healthiest green;

sometimes we see, like their lilac head cower

the delicate bloom of a cuckoo-flower.

**

Nature reflects the sunbeam’s mellow

by coloring the daffodil in most luscious yellow.

Tulips are blooming in pink, red and white

in sunshine, and purple it’s a beautiful sight!

**

The pink and white lyre-flower catches our eye

Forget-me-not and lilies-of-the-valley seem to bloom shy.

The strong red of the corn poppy, it seems to sing

while there are so many colors of peony dancing the swing.

**

Nature provides us with the most beautiful range

of colors to enjoy, to impress, to accept, but not change.

It’s spring time, energy, happiness, vivid life and a smile

given by nature, with talent, with grace, and most, with style.

When Nature Awakes

The newest year is still a child

when frost clear air is turning mild.

Snow, it melts and leaves below

last year’s dirt and rests  to show.

**

The sun gets warmer, gains in might,

sends its heat, its warmth and light.

soft blue sky and cotton clouds

make people smile; elicit the crowds.

**

Leaves on trees peak out and show

some new and happy greens to grow.

Nature turns colorful, yellow, red, blue

it’s a miracle of renewal but that we knew.

**

Birds twitter while feeding their brood

more and more people we find in good mood.

Young mammals are born, they make us all smile

It’s easy to stay and marvel for just a little while.

**

Nature is great, frozen, when asleep

it can wake, it can die, it can smile and weep.

But most of all while through seasons we roam

Nature is cleaning our Earth and Home.

Winter Wonderland – Finally

Picture curtesy of: http://feelgrafix.com/group/snowflake.html

It was Christmas, three weeks ago,

the grass was green, there was no snow.

The skies were blue, it was too warm

Green Christmas? Here? This needs alarm.

**

New Year came -no flakes in sight

The sun had fun, the sky was bright.

But unexpected, it took us off guard

we woke up to a white yard.

**

Even though it’s freezing cold

I still will say – and I am bold

Sometimes I like the soft white mass

It can be fun – and it’s got class.

**

Snowy bushes and white trees

are surrounding the lake that will go freeze.

In such a time I love a forest walk

watch the squirrel, the deer, the owl and hawk.

**

Each snowflake is unique in art

a piece of glass and a piece of heart.

A fleeting existence and still so real

a wonder of nature, that’s how I feel.

**

On rare days I see romance be built

by the tiniest crystals, and still, there’s no guilt,

knowing that the picture is soon to be gone

We know it’ll be back, will soon be re-drawn.

**

Enjoy the little miracle that’s natures gift

when everything changes, from old to new shift.

Life circles, we know it, and it shows us first hand

This short lived but beautiful Winter Wonderland.

Touch of nature

Having experienced a slight spring storm has inspired me to write a new poem.

Being outside I enjoy so much

natures’ way my skin to touch.

So many ways for me to feel

as soft as silk as hard as steel.

*

Nature’s force has so much power,

calming you and also shower

the dried out ground with strength and fear

never doubt its breathless sphere.

*

When the golden suns’ breathe warming you,

its feather touch go through and through.

But there something real to keep in mind

The raindrops follow just behind.

 *

When summer days end up in heat

may be other forces to defeat.

in ice and storm is to prevail

the feared and scary summer hail.

*

Colder than my skin could sense

breaking through my self defence

of scarf and gloves and winter flow

I still can feel the snow.

*

But most of all it’s always been

just one thing to touch my burning skin

that nature’s gift could make me please

by sending out a summer breeze.
