To all participants of the 3rd Halloween Poem Contest:

THANK YOU!!

Thanks so much for sending your poem to me and make this 3rd contest an exciting one.

But please, remember the rules on how to submit your poem!

Every author and poet are invited to participate and deliver a “Halloween-Poem” to my email address: aurorajean.alexander@aol.com,

together with their picture and a link to their website, a social media account or blog

1. Your poem needs a Halloween theme.
2. Your poem needs a minimum of 99 words.
3. Your poem has to be delivered to my email address until Halloween, October 31, 2015, 9 pm Central Standard Time.
4. Please avoid violence, bad language, and sexual content within the poems. It would be disqualified.

Very often the submitted poems are too short, I’m missing the pictures and links that should go with the poem.

Thank you very much for participating and making it easier for me to post your poem on ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’.

Werewolf Week

This is GREAT. Vampire Maman Juliette starts October with her official ‘Werewolf-Week’.
Since Writer’s Treasure Chest celebrates October with the Halloween Poem Contest, I think a little more scary is perfect. I love Juliette’s Vampire family – and of course herself!! Read it, you will see!

Vampire Maman

In honor of October, Werewolves, and Halloween the first week of October is now officially WEREWOLF WEEK here at vampiremaman.com

But proceed with caution…

Like my brother Max always says, “I have a dog. Why the Hell would I want to date one?” OK that isn’t his exact words. He says “Why the Hell would I want to fuck one?” I like to at least give the pretense of being polite.

When it comes to the subject of WEREWOLVES  we’re all over the place. We meaning Vampires. By all over the place I mean that we accept them, we live with them and from time to time we’re even friends with them but NEVER are we romantically involved (not that we know of). And of course we don’t have big battles in dark woods or dark caverns with cosplay type costumes. We talk out our problems. Otherwise we’d be like Regular…

First Signs of the New Season – Fall 2016

September has come, days cooling down

We often feel a breeze now, wafting through town.

Sunlight gets weaker and the trees lose their leaves

We start wearing boots and our T-Shirts get sleeves.

**

Grass turns brown and often it rains

Autumn cools the blood in our veins.

Nature changes colors, green turns into red

Yellow, brown and orange are the colors ahead.

**

Soon enough towards end of the summer

We start staying inside, what a bummer!

The green grass replaced by pumpkin patches

Candles and lamps are lit up with matches.

**

Halloween draws nearer, is just ahead of us.

We search for hoods, caps and gloves no reason for fuss.

As fun this season gets, the heat is amiss

To keep us warm very often, is only a kiss.

**

And on one day, before we’re even aware,

Towards the end of the year, we’re sure getting there.

Families prepare, laugh and steer

To the Thanksgiving feast, how quick it was here!
