Tiny, Scary Species – A Riddle

26076995 - 3d man leaning against red question mark and thinking over white background

They’re smart and feel each other’s mood

part of their body, it is nude

They communicate by touch and sound

and strong they hold their family bound.

**

They love to explore and love to taste

when they move, it looks like haste.

They stay quite close to their own home

It’s not their habit, far to roam.

**

Their homes are clean and organized

areas for food and sleep are well devised.

They are great parents and love their kids

they’re not spoiled, they follow bids.

**

They can jump from impressive heights

but small they are – beware their bites.

Their whiskers help to feel some change

in temperature, breeze and other range.

**

As small they are, it’s hard to catch

we wouldn’t think they’re one good match

but please, believe me, hold your breath,

they scare an elephant to death!

**

No war, no feud no arrogance

peaceful and tiny, they feed from plants.

But sadly they all, including brood

to many hunters, are just food.

**

They might scare ladies up to a chair

they might cause screams and fearful stare

when they’re found in your honorable house

I think, you’ve guessed – I mean – the mouse!

A Bristly Little Friend – A Riddle

question mark

He’s cute in his face

He moves slow, with no grace

His language can be sometimes scary

He is careful and always wary.

**

He’s a mammal, our little friend,

prefers in gardens his time to spend.

He’s immune to a snake’s bad bite

to many of us he’s a normal sight.

**

He’s useful to gardens eats varmins and worms

if she feeds her babies she’s immune to storms.

Their fur is some special with defensive skills

They might be dangerous and are called quills.

**

He’s not a mammal you would like to pat

In fall he eats more, and stuffs himself fat.

In winter he usually sleeps all the way through

until spring when he’s back, a regular view.

**

When he is in danger he rolls into a ball

he’s not very big, actually he’s quite small

I guess enough hints, it’s time to lift the fog

Of course I’m talking about the hedgehog.

Family Bonds – A Riddle

question mark

There is a bond of blood holding on to them

That forms this group just from the stem.

The parents usually are the center

No “in between” and no chance to enter.

**

The kids are completing the group around

Together with partners they have found.

Teenagers leave after a while

Form their own group. just this style.

**

They play, they sleep, they hunt and kill

Everyone adds his own skill.

They protect their kin, as it should be

Living in any family!

**

No matter how fun this might all sound

Wherever they are and can be found.

To their blood bond you are a stranger

And on their ground to you they’re danger!

**

They’ve been on this Earth are spirit guides

Revered, respected on many sides.

Nature agrees with them and goes hand in hand

Through sunlight and through shadow land.

**

Anchestor’s know he was here before

Then he was killed for fun, fur and more.

Now he returns, no need to reap

We need to watch and need to keep.

**

A bond he forms to our spirit soul

Helps us and nature become whole.

He’s not evil, he’s not bad!

No reason to shoot or just go mad.

**

Protect his wisdom, protect his kind

Don’t close your eyes and just go blind.

Don’t slaughter, keep from killing, don’t engulf

Our spirit, the wilderness’ Great Grey Wolf!

Soft-Footed Death – A Riddle

They’re huge, they’re lethal and they do take my breath,

Their features, their nature, their instincts bring death.

In their natural habitats they are the king

Get out of their way or your life ends with a sting.

**

Their disguise is perfect, never feel safe

Stay inside, you can’t see them, don’t be too brave.

No matter how closely you listen around

They could lurk behind you without slightest sound.

**

No matter how fluffy and cuddly they seem

Petting and touching them can’t be but a dream.

Don’t try to outrun them, they’re faster than you

Don’t try to climb from them they can do that too!

**

Even water won’t save you, once you’re on the run

Swimming and splashing to them is much fun!

Once you’re prey to them, you’re most likely lost

Start praying, they’ll get you, at no matter what cost.

**

Beauty in gold, in black and in white

Gorgeous in disguise and lethal their bite.

Death on four paws with golden-green eyes

To stay out of their way is smart and is wise.

**

And still this predator is nearly extinct

Fear and pure ignorance has killed them succinct…

It’s time we protect them, make room for their stay

And stop their endless, cruel and unnatural slay!

**

We will lose a hunter, dangerous and unique

I’ll reveal him, deprive him of his mystique.

His numbers are low, getting visibly tighter

Of course I talk about the incomparable TIGER.

Fear Of The Unknown – A Riddle

question mark

It’s an animal, a predator, hidden and smart

It’s scary, strange and to catch it is hard.

It has legs, but no feelers, no fur and no wings

It envelops prey, it bites and sometimes stings.

**

It has no tongue and doesn’t have teeth

But it has pincers and poison underneath.

You find it in forests, in basements in corners around

It does scare you sometimes, but not with sound.

**

Superstition says seeing it in the morning makes the day bad

But meeting it at night should make you feel glad.

Some of them are useful, and some are dangerous to see

depending where you live, you better flee.

**

Some are as tiny as dust you don’t know they are there.

But some others are huge, these are the ones that scare.

Some live in holes and await there their prey

Some others build webs, where they lurk and sway.

**

But no matter what kind you meet, just please take care

You can see them all over, no matter where!

As for me, seeing one means holding my breath

No matter how small each one scares me to death!

**

I am pretty strong, I’m as well quite tough

But seeing one of these to me is enormously rough.

My heart pumps fast, sweat drops and my eyes get wider

Seeing me like this tells you clearly: I’ve seen a spider…

Black And White Toy – a riddle

*****

Tall and fluffy, sweet and cute

To kids he is the perfect hoot.

Moving slow, but smart and clever

He can’t be drawn in colors ever.

**

Mom’s are not tender, but quite hard

They raise their kids, educational and smart.

Even though babies are tiny at birth

With 18 months they know what they’re worth.

**

Unimpressed by meat who knew,

they’re eating plants, trees and bamboo.

They’re Asian, still their eyes are round

They can swim and climb but live on the ground

**

When they eat, they use to sit

They move deliberate when they flit.

However cute they’re still quite strong

And can be dangerous, don’t get it wrong.

**

They don’t sleep when it gets cold

They just move lower, they’re that bold.

Their habitat shrinks, it’s sadly linked

that they might soon become extinct.

**

If humans don’t give them huge advance

This cuddly friend won’t stand a chance,

to survive on Earth equal and fair;

Our black and white, beautiful Panda Bear.

Black creature – a riddle

*****

For the longest time in history

this creature was a mystery.

An animal, evil in its eyes

it was called death in disguise.

**

Considered a witches confidant,

it was the bad women’s best friend.

Mystical and black as coal

it was considered carrier of a human soul.

**

It was called dirty, and ‘devil’s slave’

often found on a newly dug grave.

It was attacked with slingshots and stones

caught and tortured to the bones.

**

So many of them had to die

thinking about it makes me cry.

Still nowadays do people sneer

while they actually feel fear.

**

In truth who would have thought

they all have a quite bright spot.

Intelligent and family bound

protective and smart they stand their ground.

**

Proud and clever one can see

them in wolves’ and predators’ company.

They always warn who’s ever there

of danger, darkness from in the air.

**

They love to collect some sparkling things

having lairs with silver, gems and golden rings.

They’ve got commanders, lieutenants and even spies,

they comfort each other if one cries.

**

For centuries they were called bad

it took a while until humans had

accepted that they are quite rife

and too insight into their life.

**

Meanwhile it’s clear he’s bright and black

but doesn’t bring departed back.

He’s social, smart and never craven

Our big, dark, shiny, handsome raven.

Dangerous Darkness – A Riddle

When sunbeams shine on skies above

light the world , the fields and all thereof.

Deep in the woods where it’s cool and dark

the life of danger’s set to park…

**

Sleep comes easy, rest does too,

It’s important to let strength re-new.

The night will be another fight

to get the pray and some to bite.

**

Finally from dusk to dawn

the time has come to test the brawn.

in silence and with secret swings

the danger has prepared its wings.

**

Soundless floating on the wind

it finds its victim, has it pinned.

A cry in highest pitch and pain

and the predator has won his gain.

**

Quickly carrying it to hide.

three beaks to feed with strength and pride.

The night just started, much to do

mommy flies – for kids to chew.

**

No prey will have the time to fear

death will come, with none to hear.

No sound, no smell, it will go fast.

And no memory to even last.

**

The predator will eat it whole

later we’ll find them by the pole.

A pellet out of bones and fur

a victim’s life, gone in a blur.

**

But danger’s kids will proudly grow

to become more predators to show.

Beautiful and lethal, in secret to hide

More danger, more murder in silence to glide.

**

Adjusting with nature, in dawn and light

during night and day a beautiful sight.

Eyes like candles , attentive and wise

a master of death and in disguise.

**

Of course this danger is protected in weathers

covered from head to toe in feathers.

Something some call without respect “fowl”

I’m talking, no doubt, about the beautiful owl.

**

The Predator – a riddle

***

What is it that sneaks through darkness and night?

It’s soundless and careful it doesn’t need light.

A lethal predator in twilight and day,

no chance to survive for its hunted prey.

 *

It’s a magician when it comes to disguise,

only light to betray its beautiful eyes.

ears made to hear the slightest move

a body to make the successful prove.

 *

They can be tall and small and medium size

no matter how big they bring death as surprise.

They can be brown or black or red or white,

Grey or mixed with dots or stripes.

*

They can be with short tail or one very long

with stumpy, thick or thin tail it never is wrong.

They’ve got whiskers some got ear tips and some are without

some are flat nosed and some have a beautiful snout.

 *

Sometimes they’re sweet and sometimes they’re wild

and some of them are like our own child.

Some of them climb or stay on the floor

some of them purr the other ones roar.

*

But all of them have their own deadly claws

On all of their four velvety paws.

The riddle is easy, as simple as that

Of course I’m talking about “The Cat”.
