We Shall Never Forget 9/11!

Dear Lord

Please, give peace and rest

to the souls we lost

to the souls who grieve

to the souls who stayed back

and continue a life without their loved ones.

Help us to remember

help us to never forget

help us to stand United

be one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Dona nobis pacem, Amen.

I hear people saying we don’t need this war
I say there’s some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn’t get to keep ’em by backing down
They say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in
Before you start your preaching
Let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten

They took all the footage off my TV
Said it’s too disturbing for you and me
It’ll just breed anger that’s what the experts say
If it was up to me I’d show it everyday
Some say this country’s just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I’d have to say that’s right

Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten

I’ve been there with the soldiers
Who’ve gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they’re fighting for

Have you forgotten all the people killed
Some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don’t you tell me not to worry about Bin Laden
Have you forgotten

Have you forgotten
Have you forgotten

In Rememberance Of 9/11

September 11, 2001, the day of the worst terrorist attacks the U.S. had to face in its history. Annually we remember the victims and their families; we keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

During the September 11 attacks in 2001, 2,996 people were killed and more than 6,000 others wounded. These immediate deaths included 265 on the four planes (including the 19 terrorists), 2,606 in the World Trade Center and the surrounding area, and 125 at the Pentagon. (Source: Wikipedia)

I think it’s important we don’t forget this day, the ones who suffered, the ones who had to fight with the loss, with despair, and with illness. It was a dark day – and still: ‘UNITED WE STAND.’ Americans proudly helped, supported, comforted and still remember. It is important we never forget how to STAND UNITED!

Today, September 11, 2017, I would like to remember the ones who helped, the ones who were there, risking their lives for others, and in far too many cases, paid the highest price in the line of duty!
Many more, exposed to toxic dust and other hazards, have succumbed to illnesses related to their rescue and recovery efforts over the years. On Thursday, September 7, 2017, the FDNY added 32 more names to the World Trade Center Memorial Wall.

Thank you, helpers, thank you, supporters!

Thank you for your sacrifice, for your help, for giving everything you had and paying the one price we never can give back to you.

Thank you, for your belief in helping each one of us, no matter where no matter what.

We will keep you in our thoughts, being grateful you were there!

God bless you.

September 11 – It’s 2016! Time to Remember!

July 28, on FB, Steve Woodall, posted a picture of 9/11.

That’s what he wrote:

Does anybody remember the day when Color, Race, Religion and Political Affiliation didn’t matter? The day when Police and Firefighters were the Biggest Heroes on the planet.. The day when we were all just Americans?? Don’t let it take this … To bring us back together.. Please feel free to share.

Please, remember!! REMEMBER!!

14 years ago… September 11, 2001, the United States of America faced terror! Four coordinated  terrorist acts have ended thousands of lives in our beloved country.

  • American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 were crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center complex in NYC.
  • American Airlines Flight 77 was crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia
  • United Airlines Flight 93 was steered towards Washington D.C. but crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after brave passengers tried to overcome the hijackers.

All of these attacks have claimed the lives of 2’996 people.

It was the deadliest incident for firefighters and law enforcement officers in the history of the United States with 343 and 72 killed.

In the meantime health implications have demanded the lives of many more.

Why am I telling you this? For two reasons:

Number 1:

As a reminder of what happened to our Nation, to our Country, to our Home, to our people. May we always keep them in our hearts!! Lost, but never forgotten.

Memoriam prayer:

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning hush,

I am the uplifting rush

Of quiet birds’ encircled flight;

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there, I did not die

Number 2:

It is alarming to see what’s happening in our country right now! People shooting, killing each other! People who are supposed to be neighbors, friends, family! Death, racism, hatred spread out and destroy our home, our country from the inside!

September 11, 2001, our president has delivered one sentence in his speech, which I would like to repeat here:

“This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time.”

Remember, how it was after the terrorist attacks! Please, think back and remember how we felt, how we acted towards each other? Is this forgotten? Is it really gone?

Shouldn’t we all remember September 11, 2001? Shouldn’t we all honor the ones who lost their lives, sacrificed themselves and went through a living hell? Don’t you agree it’s time we think back and realize  what all the victims hearts have done? They connected us!! All their souls have woven an enormously strong bound of affiliation, solidarity and brotherhood.

Shouldn’t we all be grateful we had the lost ones in our life – and start loving again, instead of killing? Helping again, instead of destroying? And seeing each other again as what we were meant to be?
