March 5, 2018 I found a new achievement on WordPress:
I’m very excited to be a blogger of 3 years this month.
Writer’s Treasure Chest has grown significantly in the past year.
over 5,500 comments
almost 80 guests
I’m so lucky to be part of the blogging world with all your help. Without guests, friends, followers, supporters and people encouraging me again and again this blogging adventure would not have been progressing at this pace and wouldn’t have been as successful as it is.
I know you might ask yourself – a “furry friend”? And I’ll reply: Yes… VERY furry. The ones of you who read my blog regularly will probably know by now who I am talking about. For the clueless ones: Here he is:
Of course, we know him as TSRA, but as most of us know, behind this pseudonym a real man hides. His name: Chris Graham.
Chris is a writer supporter, an excellent blogger, an avid reader – and an amazing personality – a friend!
What is the purpose of “The Story Reading Ape’s’ blog? He writes on his “About” page:
What is the purpose of my blog?
1. To introduce YOU to new (to me) authors I’ve come across in my wanderings through books and the cyber forest.
2. To provide a platform (battered old homemade soapbox) for authors to introduce themselves to you. (See my Contact Me Section for Guest Author article Guidelines)
3. As an informal information service to authors, poets, or anyone else who is thinking of becoming a published person of that ilk.
4. To promote FUN and an OASIS OF CALM and Font of useful Knowledge and tips for Indies (please do NOT feed my naughty chimps or they may follow you home) from the woes and stresses of the real world.
But Chris does more than that. He supports, entertains, helps, consults, suggests and answers.
Whenever I have a question and don’t know where to go with it, I know I can ask The Story Reading Ape. If he can’t help, I know he’ll find a way or a person who can.
How often have I been crying on his shoulder (not literally though!) – and he comforted me. And he was there for me when I didn’t get anywhere with my book blurb – and again when I needed a cover designer.
Not to forget he was the one who spread the word about ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’ to his thousands of followers, re-blogged my posts, published guest posts, accepted me into his author’s hall of fame and supported not only my writing but also my blogging significantly.
The Story Reading Ape has a soft spot for his readers, followers, authors – and fans.
To me, Chris is one of the cornerstones during the last few years of my writing and blogging progress and a valuable and appreciated companion on my path to publishing my book. It will take another while, but I know, whenever I need help, he’ll be there.
Even though I never met Chris Graham personally, I consider him a friend, and today I wanted to say:
Tonight, when I opened ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’ Dashboard I got wonderful news!
Twelve days before my blog’s ‘3rd Birthday’ I got my 1,000 followers which makes me very proud.
This milestone is once again an opportunity to say Thank You! Thank you to all my followers, to all people who read my posts regularly and the visitors who drop by occasionally. Thanks so much for all the re-blogs. Thank you for all your comments and thank you all for your help and your ongoing support.
Thanks to you my blogging adventure is that much fun. Thanks to you this part of my writing work is not only challenging but also a gift to me. I learned a lot, publishing all my posts. But without you, all this wouldn’t have been possible!
If I had not as many visitors and the progress on ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest,’ my blogging life would not be what it is now.
Once again, it’s Thanksgiving, November 23, 2017, a day to be grateful for many things, probably too many to count. But I’ll try it anyway:
What I’m thankful for today:
My health, a bit in my bank account, the bestestest sister on Earth, Good Friends, my Californian Mom, my Freedom, , the chance to travel, my kitties and the opportunity to have them…
A roof over my head, a bed to sleep in, food on the table and coffee in the morning…
My ability to think, to learn from mistakes, my education, having a home, the talent to write, my humor, my safety, the chance to expand my life and move…
My car, sunshine, birds, clean water, my cell phone, books, the chance to go to the doctor when needed, holidays, time, work, entertainment, warm clothes, music…
Flowers, rainbows and tears, snow, all my working senses (yes, including the common sense), my mind, my memory…
Hugs, touches and the sensitivity to cry…
… and of course: life.
I am very grateful for having you, followers, friends and readers of my blog, to make my writing adventure such a wonderful one! Thank you for visiting ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’ regularly. Thank you for commenting, for liking, for following and for sharing this path with me!
September 11, 2001, the day of the worst terrorist attacks the U.S. had to face in its history. Annually we remember the victims and their families; we keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
During the September 11 attacks in 2001, 2,996 people were killed and more than 6,000 others wounded. These immediate deaths included 265 on the four planes (including the 19 terrorists), 2,606 in the World Trade Center and the surrounding area, and 125 at the Pentagon. (Source: Wikipedia)
I think it’s important we don’t forget this day, the ones who suffered, the ones who had to fight with the loss, with despair, and with illness. It was a dark day – and still: ‘UNITED WE STAND.’ Americans proudly helped, supported, comforted and still remember. It is important we never forget how to STAND UNITED!
Today, September 11, 2017, I would like to remember the ones who helped, the ones who were there, risking their lives for others, and in far too many cases, paid the highest price in the line of duty!
Many more, exposed to toxic dust and other hazards, have succumbed to illnesses related to their rescue and recovery efforts over the years. On Thursday, September 7, 2017, the FDNY added 32 more names to the World Trade Center Memorial Wall.
This year ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’ celebrates its 2nd anniversary.
Within these two years the post has made huge steps forward. I’m proud to present a few numbers here:
– 723 posts
– almost 3,900 comments
– over 30’000 views
All these posts, all these comments, the interviews, the Spotlights, blog tours, pictures, smiles and all the fun! None of this would have been possible without you, followers, readers, visitors and friends.
I want to take the chance at this point to say THANK YOU! Thanks so much for your visits, for the time you sacrifice to read, to comment, to share, re-blog and smile with me and all of us! It’s you who made this journey such a pleasure for me!!
