Thanksgiving 2016

Thanksgiving is traditionally a day to say grace, to be grateful, to say ‘Thank you’ for the blessings. And again, this year that’s what I’d like to do.

I’m saying thanks for:

  • … my family and friends
  • … my chance to do what I love doing
  • … my luck to have food on the table every single day
  • … my writer friends
  • … my supporters here in the writing world
  • … my progress in writing
  • … my finished novella
  • … my ideas for future novellas in the series
  • … my blog
  • … and every single follower, reader and commenter on here who makes this blog such a wonderful journey for me.

THANK YOU ALL!!

Quick Tips for Paperback Page Numbering

Jo Robinson from LitWorldInterview once more provides us with excellent and helpful tips for self publishing. This time it’s the page numbering! Thank you Jo!! We are grateful for all your informative work!

Lit World Interviews

When numbering the pages of your paperback manuscript, the thing quite a lot of Indies have trouble with is that they use Page Breaks rather than Section Breaks. A Page Break is just that—starting a new page within the same section of a book. With a Section Break you can have totally different numbers and Headers and Footers for each section. The way to ensure that your numbering doesn’t bounce back from the first chapter of your book to the front matter is to get rid of all the Page Breaks in first pages and replace them with Section Breaks.

page-break
Section Break after title page, and again after the table of contents, and every other page you have in your front matter.

section-break
Then double click into your Headers and Footers up to and including the first page of your first chapter, and unlick Link to Previous. This will ensure that…

Dear ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’ followers, readers and friends!

I’m going to take some time off and will be doing some travelling between

Time off, meeting friends, relaxing, driving around, paying some visits and just having a good time! Sometimes this is just needed!

I won’t be online ever so often during this time, but I’m trying to make sure ‘Writer’s Treasure Chest’ won’t dry out. And I’d be very happy to welcome each one of your comments on my blog posts!

Thank you for all your support, your time and your comments! You rock!!

Happy Easter 2016

It’s Good Friday today. We have come a full circle. Here we go, celebrating spring for the second time since this blog exists. At this time of the year, so many things are happening.

A new year, a new season, warmth, sunshine, spring, baby birds, baby bunnies, changes everywhere.

Of course, I could write all kinds of stuff right now, bunny verses, bible quotes, reminders of what Easter means. Deep in my heart, I keep a special key to the Easter time… to each one of us, it might mean something else! Should we care? Should we discuss? Should we argue?

I don’t think so – we should celebrate a new spring and an amazing and wonderful holiday together.
