It was Simin’s Birthday, and Katie had planned to surprise her with a meal. Zepheira told her about a dish containing chicken meat, fruit, and rice. That sounded wonderful, and Katie decided to cook that for the entire Council of Twelve and their consorts, including Sundance, of course. It wasn’t easy to keep Simin away, since she was, first of all, the best cook of the consorts, and also, to keep it secret from her. Zye decided to support Katie, while Sundance made sure, Simin was decently distracted, so she wouldn’t get suspicious.
It worked wonderfully, and Katie and Zepheira earned their praise for this meal. In case you feel like cooking it, here we go. Feel free to let me know how you like it.
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
1 Onion, small, finely chopped
2 teaspoon Fresh Garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon Chili Flakes
1 cup Dry White Wine
1 cup Fresh Cream, (whipping cream)
450 grams Half Shell Mussels, ( 1 pound )
Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
1 Lemon, juice and zest
1/2 cup Parsley, chopped
.Melt the Butter in a large skillet (with a lid) – saute the Onion, Garlic and Chili Flakes until soft
Add the White Wine and simmer until reduced by two thirds – add the Cream and simmer 2 – 3 minutes
Add the Mussels and cover the skillet – over low heat, steam the Mussels until cooked – about 8 – 10 minutes
Remove from heat – season to taste with Salt and Black Pepper – stir through the Lemon Juice, finely grated Zest and Parsley
Serve as an appetizer with fresh, crusty bread slices
It was one of these days when Katie invited the family to an informal dinner. As usual, she had her head full of work and came home late. And here she was, panicking. We all know she’s not the best cook between Heaven and Earth, and being late and not having an enormous choice in the pantry, made her hyperventilate.
She was lucky to have Zepheira peeking in and finding her, almost in tears. Zye, helpful as ever, jumped in and found whatever was around. Together with Katie, she created a wonderful, rich dinner for The Council Of Twelve and their consorts:
3 cups cooked, shredded chicken (a rotisserie chicken works great for this recipe)
2 cans (10 ounces, each) cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup light mayonnaise
1/2 cup light sour cream
1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 bag (12 ounces) frozen broccoli florets OR 2 cups fresh steamed chopped broccoli
salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray. Set aside.
In a large bowl, add the cooked shredded chicken. Season with salt and pepper. Then add in all the remaining ingredients. Gently stir to combine mixture. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread out evenly. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Serve with cooked rice or egg noodles! (we prefer the rice)
Katie and her consort-sisters grew. They developed as a group, as a family, as strong independent powerful women.
While in the beginning, the ‘Council of Twelve’ mainly was that, a ‘council,’ the members of ‘the brotherhood’ how they called it, merely met when they had a problem to solve, work out together, regroup the troops, or some other business challenge coming up. Rarely did they meet just for fun. Of course, when you’re a brotherhood of a dozen enormously strong creatures working together, you start knowing each other. However, they barely met anywhere else than in the Great Hall, the arena, or a battlefield.
Once Katie and Raphael fell in love, the entire Council met for dinner once a month in their house. Katie was known as one of the most incapable chefs of all times, but not even one council member had the heart (or the guts) to tell her that. She knew she wasn’t that good a cook and got herself help and support. But she constantly learned. Not even Sundance could help much. Sundance was a warrior and usually ate either in the warrior common dining hall or cooked for herself. Her kitchen knowledge was limited to mostly oatmeal, coffee, or cereal.
With Zepheira and Simin, two more consorts showed up, and their knowledge and willingness to learn made the monthly meetings much more enjoyable.
The longer the consorts knew each other, the closer their connection was. They started to open up to all council members. Even though they seemed intimidating at first, the consorts included them in their circles, and the ‘brotherhood’ slowly turned into a family—a family who deeply cared for each other. The Great Hall was not only for the Council Meetings anymore, but the consorts often gathered there with the council members to support a crisis.
Today we find out that the Great Hall does have a small kitchen attached. In case of a crisis, it was much easier to whip something up right there than cooking in one of the houses and carrying the food for sixteen people over.
They stocked the kitchen with long-lasting nutrition, such as cereal, the ingredients for oatmeal, coffee, tea, dried ice tea concentrate, rice, dried mushrooms, raisins, nuts, cinnamon, pasta, and vegetable and fruit cans.
Our consorts found out pretty quickly that it was easy to ‘whip up’ some oatmeal and that all council members loved it. Occasionally, if there was plenty of time, one of the consorts decided to get some fresh fruit to pimp it up a bit.
Let’s see how Katie’s basic oatmeal recipe looks like.
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (such as Quaker Oats Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats)
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey
Desired toppings (such as sliced almonds, peanut butter, or fresh fruit)
How to Make It
Combine oats, milk, water, salt, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
Simmer uncovered for 3 to 5 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Divide equally between two bowls. Drizzle each serving with 1/2 teaspoon honey. Add additional desired toppings and serve.
For dairy-free oatmeal, substitute your favorite nut milk.
I’m very honored to have you here as my interview guest today.
Hello A. J. It’s a pleasure to be here.
Teddy, the first time you show up in ‘The Council Of Twelve’ series, is in book number two, ‘Sundance’. Can you tell us what the situation was when we met you there?
Yes, I remember that situation. Sundance was supposed to visit relatives and she wasn’t exactly appropriately dressed for a half-formal visit as an angel. That’s why Archangel Uriel called upon me.
What was she dressed in – and what did you have to do in that situation?
She wore the everyday warrior-leather-outfit I created for her. It’s definitely not something her family should have seen her in. And I was called to design an appropriate dress for her.
One second. Do I understand that correctly? You are a designer in Heaven?
(Teddy laughs heartily). Not just ‘a designer’, Sweetie. I am the heavenly designer. As the head-designer, I have the privilege to dress ‘The Council of Twelve members and their consorts.
That must be exciting. I remember, Zepheira and Katie, who I had for interviews here, were dressed very elegantly.
Yes, my dear. Those were my creations. I admit the consorts are very modest in their outfits. It’s not like I have to create something for them every other day. Heaven is not like the Earth. A formal dress goes for several occasions and no angel will talk bad about them because they wear a dress twice.
May I ask about your age and past, Teddy? I know, it might sound a bit impertinent, but my readers and I are a bit curious.
(Teddy shakes his head). I’m not a born angel, A. J. But I admit, I do prefer to keep my past to myself, at least for now. I am very old, but still I remember my past well. However, please let’s change the subject. Maybe one day I might talk about it…
Is there something you love to design in particular?
(Teddy smirks) I would say, what many designers love to create: wedding dresses.
I always love to meet new consorts, of course. They are unique and wonderful women. One of my best friends is Zepheira. Despite her rough way to express herself, she has a golden heart.
Just lately I had to draft another wedding creation for a new consort… Maybe you heard about it… Simin Arnatt.
Oh, wait… Simin’s story ‘Bounty Hunter’ is going to be released soon.
Yes, that’s right, Teddy. ‘Bounty Hunter’ will be released March 13, 2020. Can you tell us about Simin? She is quite reserved when she’s talking about herself.
No, I’m sorry. You said, Simin was here. In that case I suspect, she told you everything you need to know.
Please read her story, and you’ll find out everything you want to know.
I will have to get going. Maybe we will meet another time again. It was interesting to see you.
When Centriel roams the Earth in a dark mood and atypical despair, in a mountain clearing, far from humankind, he unexpectedly discovers a runner, followed by a petite hunter. The way the woman treats the giant fugitive amuses the Archangel, but he quickly learns that neither of them are what they seem to be.
Simin Arnatt is an extraordinary woman. Her occupation as a Bounty Hunter takes her all over the world, as she follows her prey to the most unusual places. She would have never expected to meet the famous Centriel while on a hunt. When he offers to help her, she feels the enormous attraction, but she knows, with the secret she holds, she could never dare to hope for love.
Neither of them could guess that with her next assignment, Hell is breaking loose…

The Council of Twelve series has four books out now. And my female characters are three wonderful, beautiful, and completely different ladies. The ones of you who have read the books know what I’m talking about. Now, in all of my books, the characters’ wardrobe is playing only a minor role. None of my characters has an extended closet and mainly dresses for work or dresses up for a formal occasion.
Naturally, the characters have different tastes and styles to dress. Of course, we cannot forget Teddy, but if you would like to know who that is, please read the books, Teddy is hard to describe, and it certainly needs more than only one paragraph.
Let’s have a look at Katie. She’s a Guardian and therefore can relax a bit in the way she dresses. She tells herself she mainly likes to be comfortable, and those are two of her favorite outfits.
For a formal occasion, Katie can dress up in an official robe and look stunning in this turquoise gown:
Sundance is an essential leading character in ‘The Council of Twelve’ series. Even though as young as she is, she is an exceptional warrior and therefore dressed accordingly. (Most of the time).
As a protege of the ‘Council’ members and, in particular, the Council leader, she already has official tasks and duties to fulfill, and a formal dress for her can look like this:
The consort in book three, Demon Tracker, is Zepheira. Her unusual looks, her horns, her unique character and behavior, and her extraordinary abilities make her one of my many reader’s favorite characters in the books. She permits herself to dress in an extravagant style and can easily allow herself that freedom.
But even to Zye, how she’s called by her friends and family, formal means formal, and her consort insist on the traditional way in such a case. That doesn’t mean Zepheira always follows all the rules. A tiny sexy detail would be just like her… Dressed for an official occasion for Zepheira could look like that:
Authors: Do you dress your characters in your books? Is the outfit for you important, and do you spend pages describing it? Do you imagine how your characters look and are dressed? Let me hear it.
Readers: Do you want to read about the outfits your characters are wearing? Or is it sometimes too much for you?
Hi AJ. It’s nice of you to invite me. I love your little office. And the kitties, of course. *laughs*
Now, Zye. You met your husband, a while ago. We all read how you two fell in love and got married. How is married life?
Well, it’s more or less what Katie told me it would be. Of course, I’m still a Demon Tracker, working for the ‘Council Of Twelve’. I love what I do and I’m very proud they haven’t ‘reduced’ me to be a ‘housewife’ at this point. But additionally my regular work I had to take over quite a part of my work as a consort. And these tasks are specific.
Can you tell us what is expected of an Archangel consort?
Consorts aren’t just glorified Archangel groupies. We ladies are a part of our husbands. We are their connection to their troops, to their commanders, and their subordinates. We are expected to take care of them, look out for their wellbeing, function as their point of contact if there is a problem. And we aren’t talking about a military strategic flaw, we are talking about personal problems. Often we function as psychologists, we help, advice, comfort and they know they can count on us. Of course, there has been the one or other case when a subordinate has tried to befriend us, hoping he’s getting chances to be promoted. But that’s not what we are there for. Often we organize our husband’s meetings, training, calendars, management, guards, and many more things…
We can read about you and your husband’s romance in the ‘Demon Tracker’ book. Will you tell us just a little about it?
Of course. My hubby’s Big Seven have demanded my services as a Demon Tracker after one of them has been killed and disappeared. They needed to save her soul, otherwise, it would be lost to the evil side. I helped them to find her, and during that process, I met Archangel Uriel. He is an enormously strong Archangel, one of the oldest Archangels in existence. The case was quite difficult to solve and during my research, another problem came up. I took a great risk to finish my assessment and solve that problem…
Do you recommend reading the book?
*laughs* I definitely do. It’s an interesting adventure and also, Uriel and I meeting is quite romantic, actually. Read the book. And keep in mind – there’s more to come!
The Council of Twelve series so far includes the first three books in the series.
You can find them here:
Katie is the sweetest angel we can imagine, a fantastic consort, emotionally stable, and still responsible, helpful, and caring. She’s Raphael’s perfect second half.
Sundance is the second female angel we meet in the series. She’s an exceptional angel in many ways, the first warrior angel in three centuries, she is blessed with many gifts and talented beyond her young age.
Zepheira is a strong-willed, stubborn woman, so far the fiercest female character in the series. As a half-angel, she is a raw diamond, and due to her nature, the only one holding Uriel’s fire.
During the entire series, we will recognize recurring characters and meeting new ones; in particular, are we going to meet ‘The Council of Twelve,’ including the twelve most powerful individuals existing, each one of them holding unique talents and powers.
The fight Good vs. Evil is present within each book, the tension climbs higher with each story.
In your opinion, what should happen next? Tell me in the comment. If you have an idea, want to write a short story that you think might fit the series, write it, please and send it to me: firstname.lastname@example.org. Write ‘The Council of Twelve series on Writer’s Treasure Chest’ in the subject line.
In preparation for the book release of the third book in ‘The Council Of Twelve’ series, I invited one of my characters for an interview. Siana worked with Zepheira in a tracking team, before Zye was hired by the Big 7. Let’s see what Siana can tell us about Zye.
Siana, I know you have been working together with Zepheira when you both were in Evaan’s team. Zye told me you are an exceptional archeress and she loved working with you. How was working with her?
Oh, Zepheira is a nice woman, maybe a bit smug about her abilities, but I figure, she is all right.
Is there anything more you can tell us about her?
Well, she… she was always nice to me. But even though we were in the same team and worked well together, outside of work there was no interaction between us. She’s an excellent demon tracker, probably the best there is currently. But, well… that’s about it.
When you heard she would leave the team for a limited time, what did you think?
Thank God… oh – I mean… I thought, I hope, she’ll be fine and successful in her work for the big seven. I wished her only the best.
You know, Siana. I think, you’re a beautiful woman, and apparently, as an archeress exceptional. But looking at your answers one could think you actually don’t want to talk about your friend.
Zepheira was never a friend of mine.
Does that mean I’m right when I think you don’t like her?
That’s not it!
What is it then? Weren’t you relieved when she left?
Didn’t you actually hope she would never return?
Didn’t you hope that she will never cross your path anymore?
Of course not!
Aren’t you scared of her because of her unusual look?
(positively crying now) – Fine – FINE! I am scared of her. These cursed horns! She looks like she works for the other side! She’s always been smarter, better, faster, more talented than everyone else in all the teams, even though she looks horrible with these horns – these godforsaken horns! I can’t sleep sometimes because I’m scared!!
And when you heard what her future will be – weren’ t you jealous?
Of course! How dare she? How can she look that dreadful and still get one of the most desirable bachelor’s in the universe? She has always been so nice to me! But then my fear got the better of me – I cannot profit from her connections.
I think we all know what we want to know… Thanks for your time, Siana.
Once again I am exceptionally excited. I enjoy a phenomenal day of celebration and would like to share with you the cover of my new book
releasing End of April on Amazon and Smashwords.
In this book, we meet Zepheira, one of the Good Side’s unique creatures. She fights on Heaven’s side with her unique talent, her strong will, her stubbornness, her subtle cleverness, and her big mouth. When she gets an order from one of the highest levels in the divine hierarchy, she doesn’t know yet, how her future is going to change. She has no clue, how her skills make her a sport of fate in the ongoing fight between Good and Evil.
I’m grateful that once again my cover was designed by the wonderful Kathryn Jenkins, of KJ Magical Designs :
The cover shows Zepheira in a self-conscious pose, prepared to do her work. She is carrying her unique look and her ram horns with a certain pride. In her background, we can see the stars, symbolizing her home. Also, behind her, we see the dancing fire veins in the wings of the ‘Fire-Angel’. On the paperback cover, he can be seen on the back of the book. Zepheira’s strongest skill is her nose and with that weapon, she fights for the Good. With her beauty, she fights for her love.
I’m very happy with that cover.
Are you ready to see it?
About the book:
Zepheira is the best Demon Tracker working for the Good side. With her unusual looks, her phenomenal sense of smell, and her bravery, she quickly draws ‘The Big 7’s attention to her talent. They hire her to find one of them. Leaving her familiar surroundings and regular work environment unsettles Zepheira at first. But the challenge to prove herself and to increase the reputation of her infallibility tempts her.
She is convinced she will be a great asset to ‘The Big 7’. Little does she know she will be a much greater asset in Heaven’s fight against Evil. Zepheira suddenly becomes more than a hired tracker. She finds herself an important pawn in the game of love, heat, and fire. Will her courage and sacrifice be sufficient to dance with the flames?
